The Midwifery Model of Care

The Midwives Model of Care is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes. The Midwives Model of Care includes:

  • Monitoring the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle

  • Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support

  • Minimizing technological interventions

  • Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention

The application of this woman-centered model of care has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.

I look forward to meeting you!

If you have a due date after August 15, 2024, please email me for my availability at sfmidwife@gmail.com.

I am available for San Francisco home births, as well as births in Marin, Daly City, San Bruno, San Mateo and Pacifica. If you are a repeat client, please give me a call (I can always squeeze you in!!)

I would love to meet you and talk about your birth. Just sign up for a free introductory interview and we can talk about your home birth. I am also the producer of a video, It’s My Body, My Baby, My Birth that you can see on YouTube.  I believe that giving birth is truly an empowering experience that can transform your life.  I look forward to meeting you!

For all potential VBAC clients, please note that I am not offering home birth services to VBACs at this time. I offer a service called Labor Management at Home, where we will ultimately be birthing in the hospital. Please let me know if you are interested in this service; I would love to help you have an empowering birth experience.
